DC Heroes fans,

We hope everyone is having a great start to February! We apologize for the silence. We’ve been going back and forth with the factory on a few more details on the books to dial everything in. 

The great news is the updated samples of the books and slipcases are being sent to us next week. So we’ll have photos of those to share very soon. But we didn’t want to go another week without a check-in. Once the new samples are in, we should be able to finalize everything at last and give everyone a new estimate on fulfillment.

In the meantime, we wanted to show you some more photos of the samples we have already. Enjoy and more coming very soon!

More Book Photos!

DC Heroes fans,

We hope everyone is having a great end of the year! Before the holidays, we wanted to check in with another update. 

Since we last wrote, we received the dice box samples (see factory photos in the previous update); they looked just as good in person. As we said last time, we made some updates on our files for the books and had some factory notes, so we’re waiting on some updated samples. The factory is also still working on samples of the slipcases. We’re hopeful that full manufacturing can commence early in 2026, at which point we can give you an updated estimate on fulfillment. We really appreciate everyone being patient. We know the final product (40 years in the making) will be worth it!

Before we go, we wanted to share more photos of the book samples we received, as well as some comparisons between the originals and the updated versions to see some of the upgraded print and paper quality. In some cases, we were able to go back to the source images to make things look even better. Check them out!

First Photos of Dice Boxes!

DC Heroes fans,

Happy almost Thanksgiving! Since we last wrote to you, we have completed going through all 63 book samples and both boxes, comparing each item to the originals. We had a solid number of little notes (some for updates on our end, some for factory updates); there were no huge issues, but little things we wanted to do to make sure the books match the originals and look as good as possible. Updated files and notes are with the factory. 

We’re awaiting ETA on new samples for the books with adjustments. Once we have those, we’ll have a better sense of when manufacturing will be completed and when we’ll be able to deliver to you. We’re getting a step closer everyday!

In the meantime, the factory finished doing samples of the five dice boxes and sent along some photos (with dice inside). They look amazing! They are sending the actual boxes to us for a closer look, but we wanted to share this first look with you. What do you think?

Samples At Last!

DC Heroes fans,

Exciting news: Samples have arrived from the factory! After months of painstaking scanning and cleanup work, licensor approvals, and design work, we finally got to hold actual physical copies in our hands. All we can say is our mouths were on the floor… everything is looking amazing!

Actually, we can say lots more! These are digitally printed samples, but are meant to be pretty accurate reflections of the final product. This is our chance to look for any issues and make any last adjustments before final production.

What we got from the factory:

• both box sets
• all 63 books
• the bookmarks
• the deluxe GM Screen
• the Dice Tray

We were SO impressed with the quality of the books. The pages are made from premium coated paper and it all just feels so NICE. The printing is crisp and the books have never looked so good. The standees from the box sets are printed using actual punchboard so they feel much more substantial than the originals.The GM Screens in the 1st Edition and 2nd Edition Box Sets are much thicker than the originals. The deluxe GM Screen offered in the campaign looks beautiful. And the Dice Tray and Bookmarks are awesome.

We are currently going through each of the books page by page; there will need to be some adjustments on our end (e.g., some pages need some slight tweaks in terms of contrast to be more legible and closer to the originals) and some on the factory’s end. We should finish that process next week and get all the needed updates to the factory pretty soon after.

We are still waiting on samples of the dice boxes and slipcases (you’ll note the white sample) since we needed physical samples to finalize the size of the different slipcases.

Production Update: Closer to Physical Samples

DC Heroes fans,

We hope everyone is having a great September. Progress continues to be made on DC Heroes! The factory is actively working on physical samples. It may be taking a while, but there are 63 books and 2 box sets, as you know. The factory is printing these samples based on our print files, but they’re also using our physical copies of the original books as a way to make sure everything lines up as well as possible. So it’s painstaking and time-consuming, but really important work when it comes to an amazing final product.

As soon as we get copies in hand, we’ll share photos!

While we have you, we’d like to share some more images! Check out the back of the Slipcase for 1st Edition Modules (Bundle 2 in the Kickstarter) and several pages from the The Green Lantern Corps Sourcebook… one of our personal favorites.
